Origins

The Story Behind The Art

This artwork shares the story of my dreaming, "Bushfire." The brown background represents the land — strong and grounding — while the soft white ash that settles over it symbolises renewal and the cycle of life after fire.

At the heart of the piece is the bright yellow Emu footprint. The Emu is my totem, a powerful symbol of my tribe and my connection to Country. Surrounding it, the long oval shapes represent the communities that both Keystone and I come from — places of belonging, strength, and shared stories. The 'U' and 'UI' symbols are the men and women within these communities, gathered in unity and purpose.

The jagged dots lead to four red 'U' shapes, symbolising the moments where Keystone and I come together. From these meeting points, a straight dotted line stretches forward to a large circle — a pathway that represents our journey toward success, built on respect, partnership, and shared vision.

The 'U' and 'UI' figures around this circle mark the beginning of Kinbuild Partners, where we stand together as equals, facing one another in collaboration. The red dots connecting each meeting place are the bloodlines — the living ties that connect us back to our people, our Country, and our ancestors.
